Starting a Blog to Fund My Crossdressing Lifestyle (2026 Journey)

Posted on 20 March 202622 March 2026 by Aveline

I want to see if I can start a blog in 2026 to fund my crossdressing lifestyle.

Because the truth is—this isn’t a cheap lifestyle. Clothes, makeup, wigs… it adds up quickly.

And while I love it, there’s always that underlying thought in the back of my mind: how can I get more?

By day, I work in PR in the City of London.

I enjoy the energy, the movement, the feeling that something is always happening.

But I don’t enjoy the early mornings, throwing on men’s clothes, and standing on a packed train wishing I was anywhere else.

The dream looks very different.

Waking up when I want.

Choosing what I actually want to wear.

Taking the time to do my makeup properly.

Then heading out to a co-working space or a café and working on something that feels like me.

So that’s where this idea comes in.

Could I build a blog—starting from nothing—that eventually funds this lifestyle?

could it be profitable at all?

Honestly… I don’t know.

But the internet seems to think it’s possible.

And I’m about to find out.

Why I Chose Blogging

Cozy Blogging Vibes

I once tried doing deliveries with apps like Deliveroo, Uber Eats, and Just Eat as a way to earn extra money to fund my female wardrobe.

My thinking was simple: I could wear female activewear, get fit while cycling, and make some extra income at the same time.

In reality, it didn’t work out like that. The pay was extremely low—often just £2–£3 per delivery—and that’s before tax.

It quickly started to feel less like a side hustle and more like being taken advantage of.

There were also safety concerns, like going to strangers’ doors and cycling in the dark.

While I did enjoy it briefly, I came to the conclusion that it just wasn’t worth it.

Honestly, I’d rather cycle for fun than do it for that kind of money.

After that, I started looking into ways of making money online, ideally something I could do from home while fully embracing a more laidback lifestyle.

That’s when I came across the idea of the “cozy lifestyle”—working on a laptop, dressed how I want, writing content, and building an income through blogging.

I imagined myself in soft pyjamas and an oversized cardigan, drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and publishing blog posts that would instantly take off and generate thousands per month.

But the more I looked into it, the more I realised that probably isn’t the reality.

A lot of online creators seem to overstate how easy it is to make money blogging,

often to sell courses. I even came across discussions about the oversupply of “mommy creators,” all following the same advice, buying the same courses, and creating similar content while hoping to become overnight successes.

In many cases, it feels like the people selling the courses are the ones making the real money—not the bloggers themselves.

So naturally, I’m skeptical about how far a blog can really take me in 2026.

I don’t see it as a quick path to financial freedom.

Instead, I see it as one piece of a bigger puzzle when it comes to building income streams that support my lifestyle.

That said, I’m still willing to give it a go—if nothing else, out of pure curiosity and the desire to see what’s actually possible.

What My Blog Is About

My blog is going to focus on my firsthand experiences with crossdressing.

The clothes I wear, the makeup I try, and even the handbags I want to buy.

I want to share my journey as I explore my feminine side more openly.

Sharing real stories along the way.

The goal is not just to be myself, but also to create something useful for others

whether that’s other crossdressers at different stages of their journey or people in their lives who are trying to understand it better.

At its core, this is a crossdressing blog about real life

Not just looks. I want to talk about what it actually feels like—what works, what doesn’t.

what I learn over time. If someone is just starting out with crossdressing, I hope they can find relatable experiences and even a bit of guidance here.

Personally, I don’t believe there’s anything complicated or strange about it.

Society already accepts women wearing traditionally “men’s” clothing—things like oversized jumpers, shirts, or even “boyfriend” cardigans.

So why shouldn’t it work the other way around?

Why shouldn’t men be free to explore women’s fashion and express themselves in the same way?

I don’t have all the answers yet—but that’s kind of the point. This blog is about figuring it out as I go.

Setting It Up (Beginner Journey)

I started this journey about a year ago, when I told my partner Alisha—or more accurately, when she discovered that I crossdress.

Around that time, I launched my first crossdressing blog on Blogger.

Surprisingly, it actually did really well in the beginning.

Back then, I went by the name “Allie,” which I created from my male initials.

From what I’ve seen, that’s something quite common in the crossdressing community—adapting your real name into a feminine identity.

As I learned more about blogging and platforms like WordPress,

I decided I wanted something more long-term and professional, including my own domain name.

I originally tried to register my female name as a .com,

It was already taken.

As William Shakespeare famously said, “What’s in a name?”

To me, the name still mattered. So I made a change, and that’s how “Aveline Marlowe” was born, along with my new WordPress blog.

Since then, I’ve brought over and adapted a few posts from my old Blogger site, but most of what I’ve written is completely new.

Like many people starting a blog, I’ve seen my analytics rise and fall over time.

From what I understand, that’s normal—especially in the early stages.

With each new post, search engines gradually learn what your content is about, and over time, traffic is supposed to stabilise.

I’m looking forward to that point.

When it comes to fears or doubts,

I’ve definitely had a few. The biggest one is probably the idea of my real identity being exposed.

But then I question that—should that really be something to fear in a modern, inclusive Britain?

I’ve also felt anxious about being judged when buying women’s clothes or cosmetics,

But that fear is slowly fading the more I do it.

As for whether this blog will succeed or fail—that’s not something I’m afraid of.

For me, this is about the experience, the journey, and seeing where it leads.

My Monetisation Plan (How It Will Fund My Lifestyle)

I want to start by earning money with Google AdSense and use that as a way to experiment with SEO — testing what works and what doesn’t.

If I can figure out a repeatable process, I might create a small digital product for other crossdressers who want to explore a self-funded, cozy crossdressing lifestyle.

Even if it’s just for fun, I’m curious to see what’s possible.

Another income stream I’m considering is reselling Primark PS Beauty products through my WordPress site.

It’s mostly for fun, but it would be great if I could make a little extra money along the way.

Early Results

Here’s a snapshot of my Google Analytics stats for January–March 2026:

  • Active users: 87

  • New users: 85

  • Average engagement: 3:28

  • Event count: 2.8K

I’d take some of these numbers with a pinch of salt, as I’m likely contributing to some of the engagement myself. But at least it’s a start!

What I’m most proud of is that I’ve come this far and that I’m able to interpret and analyze the results.

The rest will come as I continue writing more content. The most important thing is to avoid getting stuck in navel-gazing — constantly checking stats instead of creating new posts.

Challenges I’ve Faced

Starting this blog has been exciting, but it hasn’t been without its challenges. Some of the hurdles I’ve encountered include:

  • Finding time to write content – Between work, life, and everything else, sitting down to consistently create posts can be difficult.

  • Learning WordPress and plugins – Blogger felt more intuitive, but it was also very basic. WordPress offers more flexibility, but it takes time to watch tutorials and understand how everything works.

  • Understanding SEO – Figuring out what works and what doesn’t in terms of search engine optimization has been a steep learning curve.

  • Being open about crossdressing – I still struggle with sharing this part of myself. Society isn’t always accepting of men wearing women’s clothes, no matter how progressive it thinks it is, and this has made openness a learned behaviour.

  • Sharing personal life details – I carefully consider what I post, making sure nothing could identify me or my family, which sometimes slows down how much I feel I can share.

Despite these challenges, each obstacle has taught me something valuable, and it’s all part of the journey.

What I’ve Learned So Far

Share insights:

  • What kind of posts perform best

  • Surprising things (e.g., certain keywords or topics)

  • Mindset shifts

The skills I’ve learned over the past year have been numerous.

  • How to rent a VPS and what a VPS actually is — essentially, the computer that your website lives on.

  • How to install WordPress on a VPS.

  • How to buy a domain name and set it up for a blog.

  • How to build a site and use plugins effectively — including why you don’t want too many.

  • How to write and structure content for SEO, including images.

  • How to interpret analytics to find topics worth writing about.

  • And, after all of that, discovering who my female self is — what she likes and doesn’t like.

This has been a journey of learning not just technical skills, but also new things about myself. It’s been challenging, fun, and deeply interesting.

My Plan Going Forward (2026 Goals)

Make this forward-looking:

  • Posting schedule

  • Traffic goals

  • Income goals

  • Expanding content (Reddit, Pinterest, etc.)

My goals for 2026 are simple: to have fun, enjoy crossdressing, and get some interaction with my blog while writing a lot more content like this.

I’m happy to answer questions and share my perspective on any challenges others might be experiencing.

I’d also like to go to Pride this year — my friend Sarah suggested it, and you know what? It would be a completely safe environment, and just a lot of fun — two girls out to enjoy themselves.

Just basic goals. It’s pointless to say I want to make a million — that’s not realistic — but having fun? That’s definitely achievable.
